Assistance dogs for people with disabilities
Description
Assistance dogs (also called disabled assistance dog, rehabilitation dog or rehab dog) are specifically trained to support a person with disabilities permanently. They have learned to act independently. They live their whole life with their master / mistress and allow a more mobile and independent life. This distinguishes them from therapy dogs, which are only used for a limited time and are instructed. Assistance dogs provide practical help, signal health crises and help through their presence and close attachment. The photos were taken in cooperation with Pfotenpiloten e.V. - Stiftung Assistenzhund i.Gr. www.PfotenPiloten.org ++ 05.09.2017, Berlin
