Inclusive instead of exclusive: Digital Imagination Challenge honors winners of Germany's first inclusive pitch event

At Germany's first inclusive pitch event with presentations in sign language and audio description, "Frazier" from Video to Voice, "BACC" from Freunde der DZB e.v., and "GazeTheWeb" from Institute for Web Science & Technologies at the University of Koblenz-Landau: prevailed as winners. On February 15, five teams from all over Germany presented their technology-based solutions to a jury of experts, enabling people with disabilities to participate in the digital media world. Unitymedia initiated the Digital Imagination Challenge innovation competition together with its cooperation partners Sozialhelden and Impact Hub Berlin to break down digital barriers. Other finalists were "LAYA" Learn as you are by Kopf, Hand + Fuss and "Signers Mask" by Mental Health & Deafness e.V. Members of the jury were: Internet entrepreneur and investor Thomas Bachem, Verena Bentele, Federal Government Commissioner for the Affairs of People with Disabilities, Jun. Prof. Dr. Ingo Bosse, expert for media and inclusion, TU Dortmund, Joana Breidenbach, social entrepreneur and founder of the think tank betterplace lab, actress and dancer Kassandra Wedel, Christine Pargmann, evaluator for accessibility, Raul Krauthausen, activist for inclusion and accessibility, and Lutz Schüler, CEO of the cable network operator Unitymedia. ++ on 15.02.2018 in Berlin (Berlin).
